• Her doctors said she is in “Top physical shape” but…she learned she had inherited high cholesterol from her mother so she has taken cholesterol medication since age 24.

Turning Point
Dru began experiencing pain in her stomach. The doctors attributed it to Gastritis. Dru’s new doctor would not prescribe stomach medicine without further evaluation because of her history. Dru had shortness of breath going up the stairs but didn’t think anything of it because she was taking her cholesterol medicine and assumed that everything was fine. Upon taking a stress test, the doctors found an irregularity and decided to do a catheterization. They found severe blockage up to 90% and immediately performed a triple bypass.

Her surgeon stated she surely would have had a major heart attack within months and may not have made it.

Today
Dru is still healing from the surgery but has returned to work. Dru’s lifestyle hasn’t changed. Due to her family history she continues to be vigilant about her health.
