The Movement
Go Red For Women is a nationwide movement celebrating our energy, passion and power to band together and wipe out heart disease in women, the No. 1 killer. Tampa Bay Goes Red seeks to raise awareness throughout the community that heart disease kills more women than the next five causes of death, combined.
The Project
The RED DRESS SURVIVOR GALLERY is a unique traveling exhibit of sketches of red dress designs to be created by Tampa International Academy of Design Fashion Design students inspired by local heart survivors.
The Gallery will spotlight several local survivors. Each survivor display will consist of the survivors’ story, the designers’ inspiration for the design, photos of the survivor and designer, as well as concept sketches.
Students will be chosen and paired with survivors: One student per survivor. The Gallery of sketches will be displayed at multiple exhibition sites throughout Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties. The actual red dresses will be displayed from May to August through the Tampa bay area.
This Web site will serve as a public document of the Red Dress Project in each of its phases.
